The Messi fever has stirred up the football scene in the United States, as the Argentine player is set to join Inter Miami in the upcoming summer season. Even David Beckham couldn’t resist the allure of Messi.
After successfully recruiting Messi, Beckham doesn’t want to miss the chance to enjoy the talents of the 36-year-old star. The co-owner of Inter Miami is so thrilled that he goes to the training ground every day at 7 a.m. just to watch Messi practice.
“Firstly, I wanted to arrive at the training ground earlier than Leo so that he could see me there and have confidence in my commitment to both him and the club. But what’s important to me is to savor the fruits of our labor after all these days of hard work,” David Beckham revealed in an interview with The Times.
David Beckham desires to visit the training ground to witness Messi in action. The former football player expressed his eagerness to observe Messi’s every move, from warming up to executing professional-level exercises. He also hopes that young players can look up to Messi as a role model. Beckham admires Messi’s humility despite being a superstar and loves watching him practice. Anyone who has seen Messi play football up close can attest to his exceptional skills and talent. While some believe that Messi needs time to adjust to Inter Miami, Beckham believes that it will only take a few seconds for him to adapt.
Messi and Beckham have developed a close relationship since Messi joined Inter Miami. In July, Messi’s arrival at Inter Miami created a huge buzz and demand for his jersey skyrocketed. Even Beckham had to wait to get his hands on Messi’s jersey to give it to his friends.
Since Messi joined the American team, Beckham has established a close bond with the Argentine star. The Beckham and Messi families often invite each other out for dinner. In fact, Beckham presented Messi with the Ballon d’Or award during the award ceremony at the end of October.
On October 30th, Beckham personally handed the Ballon d’Or trophy to Messi during the awards ceremony.
